Welcome! The goal of this project is to provide free, high quality, interactive, web-based resources for students and teachers of probability and statistics. Basically, our project consists of an integrated set of components that includes expository text, ancillary material (applets, data sets, biographical sketches), and an object library. Please read the introduction for more information about the content, structure, mathematical prerequisites, and organization of the project. Technologies and Browser RequirementsThis is an older version of our project that will no longer be updated. To use the latest version of this project, you will need theMozilla Firefox browser (version 1.5 or later), with the MathML fonts installed, and with the Java plug-in (version 1.5 or later). Firefox is currently the only browser that supports all of the open standards needed for the latest version of our project. Click on the appropriate links, or on the icons below, to install or update your browser and to install the plug-ins. This older version of the project works on the Microsoft Windows platform with Internet Explorer (version 6.0 or later), with the MathPlayer plug-in (version 2.0b or later), and the Java plug-in (version 1.5 or later). Click on the appropriate links, or on the icons below, to upgrade your browser and install the plug-ins. Support and PartnershipsThis project was partially supported by a two grants from the Course and Curriculum Development Program of the National Science Foundation (award numbers DUE-9652870 and DUE-0089377). This project is also partially supported by the University of Alabama in Huntsville. This project is a partner in the Math Gateway, which is part of the National Science Digital Library (NSDL) and is supported by the National Science Foundation and the Mathematical Association of America. Please see the support and credits page for additional information.
