David Blackwell has done fundamental work in game theory, Bayesian inference and information theory. He is the co-author, with MA Girshick of the classic book The Theory of Games and Statistical Decisions, originally published in 1954 by John Wiley & Sons, and republished in 1979 by Dover Publications. David Blackwell is Professor Emeritus of Statistics at the University of California, Berkeley.
