Being gainfully employed in the non-academic sector, Dr.Lunsford has had the opportunity to see mathematics applied to "real world" problems. Not only has the opportunity been a fun experience, it has also influenced how she will teach mathematics in the future. This talk will focus on undergraduate mathematics used in determining beam shape loss patterns for phased array radars.
Although it sounds complicated, all the listener needs is a little exposure to trigonometry and calculus to understand the topic. This will be a delightful multimedia presentation including power point slides, the chalkboard, and arm flailing. We hope to see you all there!
