Industrial careers for those with a background in mathematics rarely carry a simple title like "mathematician." the very idea of a career in mathematics has evolved and diversified. Over the past 20 years there is more demand within industry for students to have more emphasis on "applied" skills rather than the traditional mathematics curriculum. This broader range of skills provides industry with more flexibility to shift its workforce as the needs for products and services change. This talk was assembled to provide awareness to students interested in the study of engineering, mathematics and science and what students should consider as they plan their studies.
